  2. Hello! I choose the celebration "Viña del Mar Music Festival" because for me it is that I know more, with respect to other Chilean celebrations.
This celebration is an annual musical event organized in Viña del Mar, city of Chile. It is performed in the amphitheater of the 'Quinta vergara'.
It began the year 1960 and is the largest and best known festival in 'America Latina'.
They are more than 15.000 spectators approximately, but also, the event is broadcast live on radio and television.
I do not really like this celebration because, compared to other "Top Cultural Celebrations" It does not show the Chilean identity.
On the other hand, this celebration stays near where I live and it is easy to arrive, but it is a very commercial celebration.

    Regards...

  3. Hi!
The most interesting Celebration in Chile for me is The Viña del Mar Music Festival, because this celebration is one the oldest celebrations in Chile and its performance is more spectacular than others celebrations. This Festival is makes on the last week of February on Viña del Mar`s the Quinta Vergara. Although the Quinta Vergara`s stage is smaller than the place where other celebrations are makes, is watched for millions of peoples on TV.
The Viña del Mar city is two hour of where i live, Santiago city, and the ways to arrive are many, but the best option for me is takes the route 68 since Santiago and go until Viña del Mar, then you can ask to any person that live in this city and they will knows how to get.

  5. Hello!

I choose the celebration "Fiestas Patrias" because is the most popular celebration from Chile. The Patriotic Festivities falls on September 18. It celebrate the Independence Day of Chile. You can enjoy with friends and family… or anyone. This celebration has different activities, you can stay at home, go on holidays elsewhere in the country or go to the typical “fondas”.
This celebration is better than the others because you can celebrate doing many things as eat “empanadas”, dance “cueca”, drink “terremoto”, etc… It is more important than the rest of the celebration on the list because our independence is celebrated. The patriotic festivities is more popular than “La Tirana” or “Carnaval Andino Con la Fuerza del Sol” because is celebrated anywhere in Chile and not only in a city or region. Also it is older than “Santiago a mil” and it is easier to celebrate than the others because you don´t have to go to specific places for this celebration, for example go to the Quinta Vergara in Viña del Mar to celebrate the festival of the song.

  6. hello!
I prefered the celebration “Santiago a mil” because is longest than other celebrations. Is not the most popular celebration but is very attractive because this event have free activities. This event is held in Santiago, this place is most entertainment that other place but is most dangerous. If you want to know, how get there. You can visit the website of the event and ask for the address. In my case is very simple get there because I have too many ways to go for example on the bus or the subway.

  7. Hi !

I choose the celebration “Fiestas Patrias”, because is the most funny and popular from Chile. The chileans rejoices with the typical dancing “cueca”, barbecues (the bad thing is that meat is the most expensive food from September), typical games, you can drink the famous “terremoto” and “chica” ¡You fell the love of country! This celebration is better than “La Tirana” or “Carnaval Andino” because their celebrations are North of Chile, for me it is difficult to go from Santiago. Finally the Fiestas Patrias it is a celebration that unites all chileans.

  10. Hello everyone.
I prefer Fiestas Patrias or “Patriotic Festivities” celebration, because it is the most popular celebration in the country where every Chilean people participated.
It is performed in two days, 18th and 19th of September where the beginning of independence of Chile is celebrated. It is celebrated in houses or in the famous “fonda” where people eat traditional food, for example, “empanadas”, “anticuchos” o “choripanes”, drink “terremoto”, dance “cueca”, and play the “rayuela”. This celebration is better than “La Tirana” or “Carnaval andino” because these are celebrate only in the north of the country where 200000 people participate, and not all the Chileans can go. Finally, in “Fiestas Patrias” all the people are united and happier than other days.

  11. Hello guys :)!
I choose "Patriotic Festivities" or Fiestas Patrias, because all chileans celebrate this across the country and they can remember a little bit of their nacional history.

Fiestas Patrias is better than the others celetrations because the september 18 and 19 are holidays, so you can share and celetrate with your family (or friends), go to the "fondas" (is common to find "fondas" very near of your house, so you can walk or take a bus to go). Also, we can eat many indigenous foods; as delicious "empanadas", "anticuchos", "choripanes" and drink "terremotos", "chicha" or "mote con huesillo".

In this date, the spring is coming, so people enjoy the spring landscape; eating, driking and dancing "cueca"; and of course, flying chilean kites in family.

  14. Hi everyone!

About celebrations of festivals in Chile, I choose "The Andean Festival with the Strength of the Sun", because is one of the most influential and intertaining festivals in Chile and is a cultural exchange very important. The celebration take place in the north of Chile, specifically en the city of Arica, so that, people of Peru and Bolivia participates. You can enjoy all the indigenous music and dance's culture of the Andes in three days and is a free festival, not as Viña del Mar Music Festival, that it is more expensive than The Andean Festival with the Strength of the Sun.

  16. Hi!

I choose the celebration "Santiago a Mil" because is the most cultural activity in this list and I love the theater. This celebration takes place in January in the summer vacations and that is great, because you have a lot of free time. You can enjoy all the activities with your friends and family. Besides, "Santiago a Mil" is the longest festival in Chile and you can’t miss it!

    Love and peace!

  17. I choose the celebration 'Santiago a mil' because is the most touristy celebration from Santiago. In this celebration people of different age have fun; I like 'Santiago a mil' because is a family celebration.
'Santiago a mil' is more charming than Vina del mar. The festival of Vina del mar isn’t interesting at present because is always the same shows

  18. Hi!
I choose the “Fiestas Patrias” because is the most popular celebration in Chile. The "dieciocho," includes dances, eating traditional Chilean food, traditional games and music. It is, for me, the best celebration, because it includes the whole family. The children can play with “rombos”,”volantines”, among others. The biggest can play besides they can drink, and everyone can eat delicious “empanadas”, grilled, “anticuchos” and dance traditional cueca. It is the most joyful celebration.

  19. Hello guys!
I chose We Tripantu Mapuche because i think that it's not easy find this type of celebrations in contemporany world. There fore not many people attend in comparing with the others. I like as this culture understand their existence. It's more fascinating for me than the other celebrations! It's as find yourself, looking a sunset and waiting the sunrise inside of ritual performed invoke Mapuche ancestors. I love it!
The place could be anyone that be mystical but in my case for example "Santiago a mil", "Viña del mar" and "Fiestas patrias" are located more closer than "We Tripantu" because their many times celebrate in the Bio Bio region. It's beautiful place to visited! there are lots of nature, wonderful spots ...is amazing!.

  20. Hi!
I choose Viña del Mar Music Festival because it's one of the more important of Chile and South America, that's realized, in my opinion, in one of the cities more beautiful of our country ,that have attractions like the "flower clock" and their beaches.
I like this celebration because it presents many artists on an international level which can be seen live or on TV(the other celebrations don't have this possibility).
Besides the artists shows, this festival have international and folkloric competitions in which each country participates with a song that represents them on each category.

  25. Hi guys, i want to talk about “ Festival de la Tirana”. I choose this topic because i have gone to this celebration. This is a religiuos celebration and the people honour Virgin of Carmen. It is located in Tirana village and is the most popular celebration in the north of Chile. This celebration starts on July 12 and end on July 19. During this week, this place is very crowded, the nights are so cold and the mornings are so hot. But i think it is the most beautiful and magic religious celebration in Chile. Go and know it!

I choose "Fiestas Patrias" because is September and i hope celebrate all month (not really), you can enjoy with your friends and family, "Fonda" is the most popular place to celebration, I recomended "Semana de la Chilenidad" located in La Reina. If you prefer stay in home, you need a grill and beef for tradicional "asado". Maybe you need learn to dance "cueca", typical dance of Chile. I prefer this celebration than other because all people is celebrating.
